Privacy policy

We collect only what we need to run artist sites and keep the community safe. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Last updated 4 November 2026

01What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and profile picture from the sign-in method you choose.

Artist profiles: artist name, legal name, country, genres, bio, photos, social links and how you'd like to be paid. Your legal name and payout details are never shown on your site.

What you add: songs, videos, beats, merch, gigs, comments, messages, booking requests and collaboration agreements.

Usage: play counts and, for ad-supported songs, which ads were played. We don't sell this information.

02Payments

Card and bank details are entered with the payment provider, not with us. We store only the payment reference, amount and status so artists can see their sales.

03How we use it

To run your site and account, show artists their sales and subscribers, deliver messages between creators, review reports, and prevent fraud and abuse.

We use your email only for account and service messages unless you agree to anything more.

04Who can see what

Anything an artist publishes on their site is public. Drafts are private to the artist.

When you buy merch or send a booking request, the artist sees the details they need to fulfil it, such as your name, delivery address or event details.

Messages in Discovery are private between the two creators. Moderators may read a chat only when it has been reported.

Reports are private: the person you report isn't told who sent it.

05Service providers

We use trusted providers for hosting, sign-in, file storage and payments. They may store data outside South Africa, and only under agreements that protect it as POPIA requires.

06Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@skansolvemusic.com. Artists can edit most of their details themselves in the dashboard.

If you're not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

07How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Moderation records are kept so decisions can be reviewed.
