Terms of use

Skansolve Music (skansolvemusic.com) is run by Skansolve in South Africa. These terms apply to everyone who uses the platform: artists who build a site, fans who visit one, and creators who use Discovery.

By creating an account or using an artist's site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

Every artist site is run by that artist. The artist sets their own prices, plans, merch, beats and booking terms, and is the seller of anything offered on their site.

Skansolve provides the website tools and, where available, connects the artist's site to a payment provider. We don't run a central store, cart or escrow, and we are not a party to the sale between a fan and an artist.

You need an account to build a site, subscribe, tip, comment or use Discovery. Keep your sign-in details private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Accounts are for people aged 13 and up. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian's permission to buy anything.

Before uploading a song, video, beat, photo or merch design, artists confirm they own it or have permission from everyone involved, including writers, producers, featured artists, labels and the owners of any samples.

Artists keep the copyright in their work. They give Skansolve permission to store, stream and display it only so their site works.

Beat licences sold on a producer's site never transfer copyright. The licence terms on that site say what the buyer may do.

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. Skansolve never sees or stores card numbers.

A purchase, tip or subscription only counts once the payment provider confirms it. A subscription is not active just because Subscribe was clicked.

Test transactions that artists create to try the checkout flow are clearly labelled and are never counted as real earnings.

Some free songs may play one short ad before they start, and only when a suitable ad is available. Paying subscribers never hear ads.

Ad revenue for an artist's streams goes to that artist. We only show ad earnings that have been reported; we never estimate or invent them.

Discovery is only for signed-in creators who choose to list themselves. Contact details stay private until two creators choose to share them.

Collaboration agreements made in the app are a record of what two creators agreed. They are not a legal contract or legal advice.

Don't send spam, harass anyone, impersonate someone, or ask for money up front. You can block, mute and report anyone.

The verified badge means a Skansolve moderator checked by hand that the account belongs to the artist it names. It is never given automatically and is not an endorsement.

Our moderators review reports. They may take down an upload, pause a Discovery listing, remove a verified badge or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the law. The artist sees the reason in their dashboard.

If you believe something on an artist's site uses your work without permission, report the site or email support@skansolvemusic.com with the site link, the song or video, and proof that you own it.

We work hard to keep the platform running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Skansolve isn't liable for losses from a sale between a fan and an artist, or from content an artist uploads.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will let artists know in their dashboard before it applies.
